Oxford Food Hub has launched a new Corporate Partnership scheme aimed at building long-term collaborations with Oxfordshire-based businesses committed to community support, environmental sustainability, and social impact.
The initiative marks a significant step for the charity, with its first official partner confirmed as PQShield — an Oxford-based technology company known for its work in cybersecurity. The partnership represents an important milestone for both the Hub and the wider county.
Through the scheme, businesses can play a vital role in supporting the long-term sustainability of Oxford Food Hub’s operations. The charity rescues surplus food and redistributes it at no cost to more than 240 local charities, community groups, and organisations — from homeless shelters and schools to community cafés and grassroots projects.
The Corporate Partnership model offers flexibility, giving organisations the opportunity to contribute through financial support, in-kind donations, volunteering, or bespoke collaborations. All contributions help ensure that surplus food and essential household items reach the communities that rely on them.
Steve Hamon, Chief Executive of Oxford Food Hub, said:
“We are very proud to launch our Corporate Partnership Scheme and to welcome PQShield as our first partner. This scheme is central to ensuring we can continue supplying fresh, surplus food to charities and community groups across Oxfordshire in a sustainable way.
“We believe that by working more closely with local businesses such as PQShield, we can strengthen community support networks and safeguard the future of food redistribution in the region. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what 2026 has in store for this exciting venture.”
PQShield’s involvement forms part of the company’s wider commitment to corporate social responsibility and supporting the communities in which its staff live and work.
Elvira Carasol, Business Support Executive at PQShield, said:
“We are honoured to partner with Oxford Food Hub. As a company rooted in Oxford, we recognise how vital it is to support the communities around us and educate our staff about the work Oxford Food Hub does too.
“This partnership allows us to directly contribute to reducing food waste across Oxfordshire – an issue that affects many people in our local area. We hope our involvement will encourage other local businesses to engage too.”
The launch of the Corporate Partnership Scheme comes at a critical time, as demand for food redistribution continues to grow across Oxfordshire. The new partnership model offers businesses a practical way to support the charity’s mission — helping to reduce waste, preserve resources, and assist vulnerable communities through regular donations and volunteering.
Oxford Food Hub is at the heart of surplus food redistribution in the county. Every day, the charity collects good-quality surplus food from producers, wholesalers, and retailers and delivers it — completely free of charge — to more than 240 charities and community organisations.
Their mission is simple: to stop good food going to waste and share it with those who need it most. Entirely donor-funded and supported by over 100 volunteers, the Hub operates on values that are inclusive, nimble, efficient, environmentally responsible, and community-led.
Oxfordshire-based businesses interested in joining the Corporate Partnership Scheme are encouraged to get in touch and help make a tangible, lasting impact.
