Caremark has opened nominations for its new Community Care Fund, inviting residents, community groups and not-for-profit organisations across Oxfordshire to put forward local projects that could benefit from financial support.

The nationwide initiative is designed to help grassroots projects that improve everyday life in local communities, with three grants of £3,000 available across the UK. Organisers say a wide variety of ideas will be considered, provided they deliver a clear local benefit.

Eligible nominations could include improvements to shared public spaces such as parks, upgrades to pre-school play areas, refurbishment work in community centres, or support for local charities seeking supplies for creative activities or small-scale renovations.

Applicants are required to submit nominations online, including a short paragraph explaining the project, how the funding would be used, and a supporting photograph.

The selection process will first identify one finalist from each of Caremark’s 12 UK regions, including the South East, which covers Oxfordshire. The 12 shortlisted entries will then go forward to a public vote through Caremark’s website and social media channels, where three overall winners will be chosen.

David Glover, CEO at Caremark, commented:

“At Caremark, we see every day how powerful local projects can be in bringing people together and improving quality of life. The Community Care Fund is our way of recognising and empowering the ideas that can truly transform lives across the UK.

“It is also about giving communities a voice. We know there are many inspiring projects making a positive impact, often quietly behind the scenes, and we want to hear about them. By opening the fund to public nominations, we hope people will put forward the projects they care about and help them access funding that can make a meaningful difference.”

The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 and over, with nominations closing at midnight on 31 May 2026.

The 12 regions represented in the final shortlist will include Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, North East, North West, Yorkshire & The Humber, East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England, London & Greater London, South East and South West.

Caremark is one of the UK’s largest home care providers, supporting more than 8,000 customers through over 6,500 care assistants delivering services including elderly care, respite care, disability support and specialist care for children with health difficulties.
