Oxfordshire students encouraged to explore options on A-Level Results Day

As A-Level, BTEC (Level 3) and T Level results are released today, students across Oxfordshire who are unsure of their next steps are being urged to seek advice and guidance from trusted organisations.

Support is available for a wide range of choices, from continuing in education to pursuing employment, apprenticeships or training programmes.

Key resources include oxme.info, the National Careers Service website, and its helpline on 0800 100 900. Students interested in apprenticeships can also access information via Oxme, Gov.UK or UCAS.

Those who have not achieved the grades needed for higher education or their chosen university can find guidance through UCAS or the Gov.UK education hub blog.

Councillor Sean Gaul, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People at Oxfordshire County Council, said:

“As always, results day is one of mixed emotions, from celebrations to disappointments, with many students asking, ‘what do I do next?’

“Some students will have a clear way forward. However, for others, it will be a time of reflection, considering options or adjusting their plans.

“There are many choices available, from higher education, like university, to beginning work, starting a career on an apprenticeship or embarking on a training programme.

“Support is available through a number of services that offer help for young people.

“I’d like to thank the wide number of educational professionals who have taught, coached and mentored our young people during their time in Oxfordshire’s schools and colleges.”

Students are encouraged to explore these resources early to make informed decisions about their next steps.
