Sixes Social Cricket, the world’s leading cricket batting experience, is launching a new venue in Oxford on 15 November.
Opening in the heart of the city, the venue will be located at Westgate Shopping Centre.
Sixes continues to expand nationwide, with Oxford becoming the tenth location in the UK to welcome the high-tech batting experience, joining venues in Southampton, Brighton, Manchester, Birmingham, and Leicester, plus four sites in London.
Players select their level from beginner to world-class, making Sixes ideal for anyone looking to try something new for the first time in a fun setting.
The aim of the game is to score as high as possible by striking the numbered targets around the nets, with the technology bowling out soft cricket balls for players to hit.
Situated on the rooftop of John Lewis, the Oxford venue will feature Sixes’ signature batting nets, a large event space and an outdoor terrace to soak up the Oxford views.
In Westgate Shopping Centre, Sixes will add to the existing comprehensive entertainment offering that includes an Escape Room and Junkyard Golf. Renowned for its universities, the Oxford site provides a perfect social setting for students, groups, families, young professionals and corporate events.
A leader in leisure, Sixes wants to use its entertainment offering to appeal to a mass audience.
Sixes prides itself on providing a premium food and drink offering. The co-founders won several awards in the UK with their previous restaurant business, Mac & Wild.
Alongside the cricket action, consumers can enjoy sharing plates and wood-fired pizzas, as well as a full menu of classic cocktails, beer, wine and shakes.
In June, Sixes secured investment from the star-studded 4CAST Investment Group – an athlete collective including Ben Stokes, Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer – helping to accelerate the brand’s vision of opening the sport up to as many people as possible.
Calum Mackinnon, CEO and Co-founder of Sixes, said: “We’re delighted to open a site in Oxford. It’s a milestone moment for us opening our tenth location in the UK, and it’s an achievement we’re proud of.
“Bringing the Sixes entertainment offering to different audiences is what we are passionate about, working together with the 4CAST athlete collective to help drive the business’s continued growth.
“Plans are in place to bring Sixes to more locations nationwide as we continue to build our footprint across the country.”
