Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties has received political leaders and officers from the Vale of White Horse District Council to its Valley Park development in Didcot.
The visit, which took place on Monday, 02 June, provided an opportunity for council members to tour the show homes and explore the growing community at Valley Park.
The visitors were hosted by Aaron Wright, Senior Planning Manager and Sarah Hockin, Planning Manager and included figures such as Councillor Val Shaw, Cabinet Member for Planning, Councillor Diana Lugova, and Councillor Hayleigh Gascoigne, among others.
Discussions centred around the development’s progress, its significant impact on the local community, and the sustainable measures being implemented on site, including air source heat pumps, PV panels, EV chargers, and bee and bug hotels.
Valley Park is one of Taylor Wimpey’s strategic initiatives in the Southern Counties region. With planning permission secured for 4,254 new homes, including 1,488 affordable homes, and essential supporting infrastructure, the development is key to addressing local housing needs.

The initial phase, Primrose Gardens, has already welcomed its first residents, featuring 264 homes, including 86 designated for the local housing association.
Aaron Wright, Senior Planning Manager at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “We are delighted to have welcomed councillors and members of Vale of White Horse District Council to our Valley Park development.
“This development exemplifies our commitment to delivering high-quality homes that meet the diverse needs of the community, and we look forward to the positive impact this collaboration will have for the local people in Oxfordshire.”
Councillor Emily Smith, Vale of White Horse District Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning, said: “It’s good to see the progress on the modern, sustainably designed homes at Valley Park.
“I was pleased to learn that the homes on this phase are being built with an energy rating of A, which will reduce running costs for the residents who are starting to move in.”
Valley Park will bring major investment to the local area, including over £20 million allocated for primary schools, £9 million for secondary education, £15.2 million for road improvements, £3.6 million for public transport enhancements, and additional funding for a new healthcare facility.
These investments underscore Taylor Wimpey’s commitment to creating thriving communities in the areas in which it builds.
