Housebuilder Vistry has secured a new land parcel at Kingsgrove in Wantage, where it will deliver 129 new homes, all of which will be provided as affordable housing.
In line with Vistry’s partner delivery model, the company has partnered with housing provider Abri to forward sell the homes, ensuring the development will be delivered in 100 per cent affordable tenures.
Abri will fund the scheme through a combination of its own investment and grant funding secured via its Strategic Partnership with Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency.
The latest Kingsgrove phase marks another milestone in the ongoing collaboration between Vistry and Abri, who have already successfully delivered many hundreds of homes across the South of England.
The development has benefited from Reserved Matters consent, which was granted in December 2025, and construction work is expected to begin this spring.
All of the houses will be built using timber frame construction sourced from Vistry Works, the Group’s manufacturing arm. Vistry Works uses modern methods of construction to accelerate delivery while improving sustainability and build quality.
Commenting on the project, Supriya Ray, Regional Managing Director of Vistry Cotswolds, said:
“We’re delighted to be strengthening our partnership with Abri through this latest phase at Kingsgrove. Delivering the site as a fully affordable development will have a significant impact on the area’s affordable housing supply, whilst we’re also utilising Vistry Works to deliver the homes quickly and sustainably, maximising the strengths of the Group.”
Ross Heriot, Senior Land Manager from Abri, added:
“Our partnership with Vistry has already delivered hundreds of high-quality homes, and this latest phase at Kingsgrove is another great example of what we can achieve together.
“Working with trusted partners like Vistry enables us to make a real difference for communities, helping more people access sustainable and affordable homes. We’re excited to build on this momentum in 2026 with the rollout of Abri’s bold and ambitious new corporate strategy for 2026 to 2031.”
