Team members at voco’s Oxford Thames Hotel have been dedicating their time to initiatives aimed at enhancing the local ecosystem this month.
The hotel team has undertaken a dual effort of fruit tree planting and an environmental clean-up – collecting and removing over 42 kilogrammes of waste.
The efforts are part of the hotel’s contribution to the preservation of the region’s natural beauty and biodiversity. To help bolster and support pollinator populations, voco Oxford Thames has planted 20 fruit trees, including varieties of apple, pear, and plum.
These trees have been strategically placed adjacent to the Sandford=On-Thames hotel’s bee hives, creating a symbiotic ecosystem that benefits both wildlife and the local community.
The initiative reflects voco Oxford Thames’ environmental stewardship and its ambition to designate sections of its land for the preservation and enhancement of the natural environment.
Furthermore, the hotel team has taken proactive steps to address litter pollution in the area by organising a clean-up of its land and the surrounding parish.
Volunteers from the community joined forces to collect litter to both improve the aesthetic appeal of the local landscape and to also help protect wildlife and prevent environmental harm caused by litter pollution.
