Westgate Oxford is transforming into a wonderland of family fun this October half term, with a packed schedule of free activities designed to delight visitors of all ages.
From treasure hunts and creative workshops to its first-ever ‘dogwalk,’ there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Launching on 25 October, the brand-new Hatter’s Hunt trail, created in collaboration with The Story Museum, invites guests to step into an Alice in Wonderland-inspired adventure.

Participants can follow clues, solve riddles, and search for five hidden plaques across the centre. Trail maps are available for free at the Guest Services desk opposite JD Sports, and completed maps can be returned for a special prize.
The fun continues with Westgate’s popular Crafting Club, running from 27 to 31 October inside Social Street Food from 11.00am to 5.00pm. Children can get hands-on with Halloween-themed crafts including beaded jewellery, colouring, painting, and mask decorating – perfect for a spooky, creative afternoon.
In a first for the shopping centre, Westgate Oxford is also rolling out the red carpet for canine visitors with the Westgate Woofer’s Mutt Strutt on 01 November. This playful event celebrates the centre’s new dog-friendly facilities, including water bowls, dog treats, and waste bag dispensers.
Dogs and their owners can take part in the ‘dogwalk’ at Middle Square and receive treats from premium dog food brand Butternut Box.
Brendan Hattam, Centre Director at Westgate Oxford, said:
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer free, family-friendly activities this half term that can be enjoyed come rain or shine. Our new Hatter’s Hunt trail is an exciting way to bring the magic of Oxford’s literary heritage to life, while the Mutt Strutt will make our four-legged guests feel right at home.”
Guests travelling to Westgate Oxford can make use of Oxford’s Park & Ride services, with free bus fares available for three months from 29 October. PLUS+ Members can also take advantage of the complimentary Concierge service for bag deliveries.
