The prize was founded by Jeremy Mogford, owner of The Oxford Collection – a collection of independent hotels and restaurants in Oxford comprising the Old Bank Hotel and Old Parsonage Hotel, Quod Restaurant, Parsonage Grill and Gee’s Restaurant.
Open to writers of any nationality aged 18+, entries for the annual short story competition will be accepted until 12 January 2022 via the Mogford Prize website.
The 2021 Mogford Prize for Food & Drink Writing has been awarded to Finlay Taylor, from South London, who receives a prize of £10,000 along with an engraved award.
The longlist of 25 talented authors has now been reduced to just 4 that make up the 2021 Mogford Prize shortlist.
25 writers have been longlisted for the 2021 Mogford Prize which, yet again, attracted a significant number of entries from all over the world.
Food and drink must be at the heart of the winning tale which should have a maximum of 2,500 words. Entries will be accepted until 13 January 2021.
