In the coming weeks, the longlist will be whittled down into a shortlist of four stories for this year’s prize. At which point the names of these incredibly talented writers will be announced, one of which will be winning the prize fund of £10,000.
The winner of the 2021 prize will be announced in April 2021, once the two guest judges, Lemn Sissay MBE and Mick Herron, have decided on a winner.
The winning story, along with the three runner-up stories, will be published on this Mogford Prize website shortly afterwards.

Making it onto the longlist is a huge achievement given that, despite an unusual year for all, the annual competition attracted a significant number of entries, yet again, from all over the world.
