About Oxford High School
Oxford High School is an independent day school for girls aged 4–18, located in North Oxford. Founded in 1875 by the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), it is the city’s oldest girls’ school and has built a long-standing reputation for academic excellence and ambitious, forward-thinking education.
The school provides a continuous educational journey from early years through to Sixth Form, encouraging students to develop intellectual curiosity, independence and confidence. Its ethos centres on empowering girls to think critically, challenge ideas and find their own voice, supported by a strong academic curriculum and a wide range of co-curricular opportunities.
Oxford High School is part of the GDST network, connecting it to a wider community of girls’ schools across the UK, with shared values of leadership, innovation and opportunity. Pupils regularly achieve strong examination results and progress to leading universities in the UK and internationally.
Alongside academic achievement, the school places emphasis on personal development, leadership, and participation in activities such as debating, sport, music and public speaking, helping students develop skills beyond the classroom.
