Kings Education has announced a major new direction for Kings Oxford, which will relaunch as the Kings Oxford School of Sciences from the start of the 2026–27 academic year. The change coincides with the college’s 40th anniversary in 2026 and marks a bold new chapter in its development.
The new specialist school will provide a focused environment for students aiming for science-related degrees across a wide range of disciplines. It will offer outstanding teaching, a strong pre-university experience, and extensive academic and pastoral support.
Reflecting Kings’ long-standing educational philosophy, the School of Sciences will continue to be built around three pillars: academic excellence, personal growth, and future readiness.
Students will be able to choose from a broad range of A-level subjects, including Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics, Psychology, and Physics.
Kings’ own Degree Pathway programmes will also be offered across specialist tracks such as Allied Health Sciences, Business and Management, Computer Science, Economics and Finance, Maths, Science and Engineering, and Medicine.
A distinctive element of the new school will be its super-curricular programme, designed to deepen academic interests and extend knowledge beyond the classroom. Alongside this, a diverse extra-curricular offering will support personal development and help students grow into confident, resilient, and independent young adults.
Both academic routes will prepare students for a wide variety of degree options in areas including Business and Social Sciences, Life and Health Sciences, and Physical and Applied Sciences.
Kings Oxford has a strong tradition of success, with alumni progressing to leading universities in the UK and worldwide, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, University of Sydney, University of Toronto, University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, and Purdue University.
