Templars Square Shopping Centre has announced a programme of summer events. It unveiled a packed programme of free, family-friendly events and community initiatives this summer, including character appearances, a classic cars display and a pre-loved school uniform pop-up.

One of the headline highlights is a special visit from Bluey, the beloved heeler pup from the hit Australian TV series. The beloved children’s character will be appearing at the shopping centre on Saturday, 26 July.

Families are invited to see Bluey in person, with appearances taking place at intervals between 11.00am and 3.00pm. To help make the experience more inclusive, a special quieter session will be offered to 15 families with children who have autism or additional needs.

The centre’s much-loved classic car display is returning from 17 – 23 August. This showcase of Cowley-built vehicles will be paired with Templeton’s Road Trip Trail, a family-friendly activity where children can help the centre’s dragon mascot find his lost holiday items for the chance to win shopping centre vouchers.

Templars Square will also be supporting local families with the launch of a pre-loved school uniform pop-up, offering free school essentials to those in need. The initiative is made possible by community donations, with collection bins in place throughout July and early August. Opening dates for the pop-up shop will be announced soon.

Also this summer, Templars Square will unveil a new community mural created by local artist Lisa Curtis, celebrating Cowley’s rich identity. The vibrant artwork, part of the centre’s 60th anniversary celebrations, has been shaped by feedback from local residents, schools and community groups and reflects the spirit of Cowley over the years.

Centre manager at Templars Square said: “We’re excited to bring a fantastic line-up of events and initiatives to Templars Square this summer. We know how expensive it can be to keep little ones entertained, especially during the holidays, and we’re proud to offer a range of free family events like this.

“These events not only support local families but also celebrate Cowley and everything that makes our community special”.
