Celebrate the season in style at one of Oxfordshire’s most cherished dining destinations.

This Christmas, The Nut Tree Inn in Murcott is inviting guests to indulge in a Michelin-starred festive experience filled with warmth, creativity, and countryside charm.

Led by celebrated chef Mike North and his wife Imogen, the thatched, 15th-century inn — which has proudly held a Michelin Star since 2008 — blends fine dining with a relaxed, quintessentially English pub atmosphere. This year’s festive season promises elegant tasting menus, comforting classics, and a truly special Christmas Eve celebration.

Available throughout December, the Tasting Menu is a showcase of the season’s finest ingredients. Diners can expect exquisite dishes such as Parfait of chicken liver with red onion chutney, Fillet of fish with scallop boudin and vermouth sauce, and Saddle of venison with Jerusalem artichoke purée, Madeira sauce, and black truffle.

To finish, desserts include a Chocolate egg with salted caramel and praline cream and a Prune and Armagnac soufflé with caramel ice cream.

For plant-based diners, the Vegetarian Tasting Menu offers an equally imaginative journey — from Beetroot & red cabbage tart with horseradish ice cream to Ricotta agnolotti with preserved lemon and amaretto broth, finishing with the same indulgent desserts.

Menus are priced at £95pp for lunch and £115pp for dinner, with optional wine pairings (£65pp) and an artisan cheese course (£25).

Perfect for festive gatherings, the Party Menu celebrates comforting classics with refined flair. Guests can enjoy starters such as Parfait of chicken livers, Prawn cocktail, or Soup of the day, followed by Ballotine of turkey, Fillet of fish, or Jerusalem artichoke risotto. Desserts include Christmas pudding, Prune & Armagnac soufflé, or a cheese plate. Priced at £45 for two courses or £60 for three, it’s a perfect choice for seasonal celebrations.

For the grand finale, Christmas Eve marks The Nut Tree’s final service of 2025, featuring a special festive tasting menu (£150pp) — a fitting farewell to the year in Michelin-starred style.
