Megan’s has officially opened its new Oxford restaurant, bringing all-day dining, Eastern Mediterranean-inspired food and late-night entertainment to the former Jamie’s Italian site on George Street.
Megan’s by the Spires opened on 17 August, marking the restaurant group’s latest expansion and its biggest Oxford venture to date.
Located in the heart of the city, the new restaurant is positioned close to Oxford University, New Theatre Oxford and Cornmarket Street, offering a venue designed to take guests from morning coffee and brunch through to evening drinks and late-night events.
The menu at Megan’s by the Spires features a range of dishes inspired by Eastern Mediterranean cuisine, including shakshuka, eggs, pancakes, open kebabs, mezze, little grills, fresh bowls and desserts.
The restaurant is also offering Megan’s bottomless brunch every day, extending the popular format beyond the traditional weekend brunch slot.
As the day moves into evening, the venue shifts towards a more nightlife-focused atmosphere, with cocktails, DJs, standing bars and music-led evenings.
The restaurant said the aim is to create a space that can function as both a neighbourhood restaurant and a late-night destination.
The new Oxford venue also includes a dedicated private events space downstairs.
The space is available for a variety of occasions, including birthdays, graduation celebrations, networking events, private dining and DJ nights.
The restaurant is also dog-friendly and laptop-friendly, with customers encouraged to use the venue throughout the day, whether stopping in for coffee, working over brunch or meeting friends for dinner and drinks.
Megan’s by the Spires adds another all-day dining and evening option to central Oxford, combining a restaurant menu with a broader social and entertainment offering.
The opening also brings a new tenant to the prominent George Street site formerly occupied by Jamie’s Italian.
With its combination of daytime dining, bottomless brunch, cocktails, live DJ evenings and private events, Megan’s is positioning the Oxford restaurant as a venue that can change character throughout the day.
