Cotswolds Distillery has introduced the latest release in its acclaimed Hearts & Crafts series, unveiling a limited-edition Madeira Cask Single Malt Whisky that continues the distillery’s celebration of craftsmanship, heritage, and English whisky innovation.

The new expression marks the seventh release in the annual Hearts & Crafts collection, with just 1,200 bottles available worldwide. The series pays tribute to the Arts and Crafts movement that flourished in the Cotswolds in the late 19th century, championing traditional craftsmanship and design values that continue to influence the distillery’s approach today.

For this latest release, the single malt has been matured in hand-selected American oak Madeira casks and is non-chill filtered, resulting in a rich and full-bodied whisky. The liquid presents a distinctive garnet rose hue, reflecting the influence of fruit-forward cask maturation.

Tasting notes highlight a layered and dessert-led profile. The nose opens with cherries, toffee and frangipane, while the palate offers freshly baked Bakewell tart, dried strawberries and warming sweet spices. The finish is long and elegant, shaped by soft oak tannins and lingering dried fruit sweetness.

Each bottle is presented in a decorative tube inspired by William Morris, a leading figure of the Arts and Crafts movement who spent time at Kelmscott Manor in the Cotswolds. The design features floral motifs, birds and summer fruits set against a deep claret background, reinforcing the series’ connection to heritage craftsmanship.

Bottled at 54% ABV and priced at £100 for a 70cl bottle, the Madeira Cask Single Malt is available exclusively through the Cotswolds Distillery website, as well as the distillery shop and its retail locations in Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water.

The Hearts & Crafts series has become one of the distillery’s most anticipated annual releases, combining collectible appeal with experimental cask maturation and a strong sense of place. This latest edition further reinforces the distillery’s position within the growing English whisky category and its commitment to small-batch, design-led spirits.
