Fans of Portugal’s famous custard tart can enjoy a new summer treat in Oxford as Santa Nata has launched what it describes as the UK’s first Pastel de Nata-flavoured soft serve ice cream.
Available from the bakery’s Cornmarket Street shop, the new dessert combines Pastel de Nata-inspired custard ice cream with classic vanilla soft serve, topped with pastry flakes and a dusting of cinnamon.
The launch takes inspiration from the iconic Portuguese pastry, which originated in Lisbon more than 300 years ago and has since become one of the country’s best-known sweet treats.
Founded in 2019 by Francisco Oliveira, Santa Nata specialises in authentic Pastel de Nata pastries, baked throughout the day in small batches. The Oxford bakery forms part of the brand’s growing portfolio of locations across London and Oxford.
To mark International Ice Cream Day on Sunday 19 July, customers will be able to enjoy a two-for-one offer on the new soft serve throughout the day.

The new ice cream is available daily from Santa Nata’s Oxford bakery at 7 Cornmarket Street, with the introductory promotion taking place on 19 July.
