This April, food lovers can step back in time as celebrated chef Rosemary Shrager brings a nostalgic culinary experience to Oxford. Rosemary will take over as guest chef at Treadwell Restaurant at The Store for two days, serving a menu inspired by classic British dinner party favourites.
The special event, titled Retro Classics, will take place on 17 and 18 April 2026 and forms part of an ongoing chef collaboration series at The Store, which is introducing a line up of guest chefs throughout the year.
Guests attending the evening experience will begin with a cocktail before sitting down to a carefully prepared five-course dinner centred on familiar dishes reimagined with refinement and balance.

Designed to revisit flavours that once shaped traditional British entertaining, the menu includes celeriac cappuccino served with a surf and turf assiette, smoked haddock gratin with toasted brioche, navarin of lamb accompanied by shallots, glazed baby mushrooms, fine French beans and buttery mash, followed by chocolate truffle cake with caramel sauce, chocolate ice cream quenelle and pears in red wine, before finishing with rum cakes.
Rosemary, widely recognised for her long career in professional kitchens and television, has spent decades promoting generous, flavour-led cooking.
Her culinary background includes working with renowned French chef Pierre Koffmann at La Tante Claire, as well as time spent alongside Jean-Christophe Novelli. She has also appeared in television programmes including The Big Family Cooking Showdown and The Real Marigold Hotel.
The April event follows the launch of The Store’s new chef takeover programme, with further guest chef announcements expected later in 2026 as the Oxford venue expands its culinary calendar.
