Beard Construction has announced a record-breaking year of charitable fundraising, with colleagues raising more than £170,000 in 2025 to support five charities across the south of England.

The funds were raised through a wide range of activities organised by teams across Beard’s five regional offices, each of which selected its own charity of the year.

From endurance challenges and sporting events to creative team activities and community initiatives, the fundraising efforts will support thousands of people in the communities where Beard operates.

In Oxford, colleagues raised £23,400 for the Oxford University Sport and Community Partnership, which provides sporting opportunities for young people in the local community.

Other regional totals included £12,800 raised by the Swindon office for Youth Adventure Trust, supporting 260 young people through residential camps and activities that build resilience and life skills.

Bristol raised £9,300 for Grief Encounter, funding sleep therapy sessions, art materials and online support for grieving children and families.

Guildford colleagues raised £22,000 for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, helping fund physiotherapy and hospice-at-home nursing for palliative and end-of-life patients, while the Southampton office raised £4,000 for Naomi House & Jacksplace, supporting play therapy sessions for seriously ill children and young adults.

Many of the fundraising activities were match-funded by the Beard Construction Charity Foundation (BCCF), bringing total direct charitable giving to £171,500. Since its inception in 2016, the Foundation has now donated just over half a million pounds to community initiatives driven by Beard’s people.

Company Chairman Mark Beard said:

“I am extremely proud of what the team achieved last year and of their continued commitment to supporting local charities and good causes. As a company, we aim to look beyond the site hoardings and enhance the communities in which we work and operate, and we hope to have played our part in doing so.

“To each colleague who has given their time and effort, to everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts, and to the charities that we partner with, a heartfelt thank you.”

Flagship events in 2025 included Pedal to Paris, where nine colleagues cycled 333 kilometres from Farnham to Paris, and the second annual Beard Cyclathon in Oxford, which brought together 32 construction industry teams.

Additional activities ranged from charity golf days and skydives to sports days, quizzes and dress-down events.

From January 2026, the Beard Construction Charity Foundation’s assets will be held and managed by Wiltshire & Swindon Community Foundation.
