City Sightseeing Oxford is supporting an international fundraising campaign to help build the first medical centre in Cacuaco, a municipality in Luanda, Angola.
The open-top bus tour operator is taking part in a second Changing Lives Day on 23 May, when City Sightseeing Worldwide operators around the world will donate £1, €1 or $1 for every ticket sold. The initiative aims to raise the remaining funds needed to complete the healthcare facility.
The first Changing Lives Day, held on 04 October, generated 34 per cent of the total amount required for the project. In total, the campaign is expected to raise £52,000.

The new medical centre will include consultation rooms, a maternity ward and a pharmacy, providing essential healthcare to residents in Cacuaco, where the nearest hospital is more than 30 miles away.
Luke Marion said: “We’re incredibly proud to again be supporting this truly life-changing project.
“A strong fundraising effort in October put us in a good position as we now look to complete this part of the initiative.
“The work in Cacuaco will have a monumental impact on the lives of thousands of people, transforming healthcare provision, and you too can be a part of that change. Every ticket sold and donation will make a difference.”
The campaign is organised through City Sightseeing Cares, the social responsibility programme launched by City Sightseeing Worldwide in 2023 to support community projects through donations and services.
In 2024, City Sightseeing Cares funded 12 water wells in communities in the Upper Peruvian Amazon, bringing access to safe drinking water to more than 2,200 people and helping improve long-term health outcomes.
Passengers booking a City Sightseeing Oxford tour on 23 May will automatically contribute to the fundraising campaign. Donations can also be made directly through the City Sightseeing Cares website.
