A wave of 90s nostalgia is set to sweep through Stadhampton this Bank Holiday weekend as the Crazy Bear Stadhampton throws open its doors for a daytime garden party inspired by the golden era of Ibiza house music.
Running from 3.00pm to 8.00pm on Sunday 03 May, the event promises a laid-back but high-energy soundtrack of club classics and contemporary house, curated for an over-30s crowd who still know their way around a dancefloor. Set across the venue’s Glasshouse and landscaped gardens, the party blends outdoor summer vibes with a distinctly retro edge.
At the centre of the line-up are Ibiza veterans Alex P and Lauren Thompson, both bringing heavyweight credentials from decades spent shaping dancefloors.
Alex P, who has been DJing since 1987, was part of the original Ibiza explosion in the early 1990s, with residencies at iconic venues including Amnesia, Ku and Space. He also made history as the first DJ to perform across multiple clubs on the island in a single season, helping to redefine how Ibiza’s nightlife operated.
Joining him is Lauren Thompson, a regular on House FM with a growing reputation on the UK festival and club circuit, including sets at Groove Odyssey and Fabric. Together, they are expected to deliver a set that bridges eras – from foundational house anthems to modern reworks designed for an open-air crowd.
Supporting sets come from resident DJs Ei Doc and Tony Nanton, anchoring the afternoon with a steady flow of house-driven energy throughout the event.
Guy Leighton-Rees, Events Manager at Crazy Bear, said the party is designed for those who are not quite ready to step away from the dancefloor.
“This day party is for those who love a proper anthem and aren’t ready to hang up their dancing shoes,” he said. “The headline DJs fit the bill perfectly to kick-start our summer season of parties and events.”
The event marks an early highlight in the venue’s summer programme, with Crazy Bear positioning itself as a destination for immersive, music-led experiences alongside its established dining and hospitality offer.
Alongside the Glasshouse dance space, guests will be able to make use of the venue’s outdoor garden areas, creating a relaxed festival-style setting rather than a traditional club environment.
The format reflects a growing trend for daytime electronic music events, particularly among audiences seeking festival energy without late-night finishes.
Tickets are priced at £40 for the 90s House Garden Party, with demand expected to be strong given the combination of heritage DJs, limited-capacity setting and Bank Holiday timing.
The Crazy Bear, already known for its eclectic mix of dining and hospitality spaces, including its English restaurant, newly refurbished Hom Thai offering, al fresco terrace and countryside pub, continues to expand its events programme across its Stadhampton site, with a sister venue also operating in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
