Flight Club Oxford unveils floral summer terraces ahead of seasonal launch

As summer edges into Oxford, one of the city’s most energetic social venues is leaning fully into the season with a transformation designed for long afternoons, late evenings, and everything in between.

Flight Club Oxford has unveiled its Summer Terraces, reimagining its outdoor spaces as a floral, sun-drenched extension of its already high-tempo indoor experience. Opening this Friday, 08 May, the launch signals the arrival of alfresco season in the city – with cocktails, colour and competitive socialising at its core.

Known primarily for its “Social Darts” concept and fairground-inspired interiors, Flight Club has built a reputation as a lively group destination where gameplay and hospitality sit side by side. But tucked behind the main venue is a lesser-known asset: a terrace space overlooking the Oxfordshire landscape, now fully dressed for summer with a bold botanical overhaul.

Peonies, hydrangeas and foxgloves spill across the terraces in curated bursts of colour, transforming the space into something closer to an outdoor garden party than a city-centre bar. It’s a deliberate shift in tone – from high-energy indoor spectacle to relaxed, open-air socialising, without losing the brand’s trademark sense of occasion.

Service has been designed to match the setting. Guests can order directly to their tables via QR codes, allowing conversations and cocktails to flow uninterrupted. As daylight fades, the terraces shift again, with festoon lighting softening the atmosphere and extending the experience into the evening.

A key part of the offer is what the venue calls “Sundowners and Social Darts” – a seamless transition from terrace drinks at sunset to indoor gameplay as the night unfolds. It is this dual experience that defines Flight Club’s approach: a social setting that moves fluidly between relaxation and competition, without requiring guests to change venue or momentum.

The weekends bring a further layer to the offering with its brunch sessions. Running every Saturday and Sunday, the two-hour format combines bottomless Prosecco, unlimited pizza and 60 minutes of Social Darts gameplay, followed by additional time to linger and continue the socialising either on the terrace or indoors. At £33 per person, it is designed as a group-led experience rather than a traditional dining service – part brunch, part activity, part day-long occasion.

The food and drinks menu extends beyond brunch, with seasonal cocktails taking centre stage. Standouts include the Hot Peach, blending tequila, hot honey and citrus with a side of Peach Red Bull for customisable refreshment, and the Hibiscus Kiss, a floral gin-based serve layered with elderflower, apple, and hibiscus tea. Both are designed to reflect the broader summer theme: bright, expressive and built for warm-weather drinking.

Complementing the drinks are value-led summer pairings, including “Margs & Margs” – a Margherita pizza matched with Margarita cocktails – and a taco lunch deal, aimed at lighter daytime visits.

Importantly, the terraces have been designed with British weather in mind. Partially covered and heated, with blankets available for cooler evenings, the space is positioned as a year-round outdoor option rather than a fair-weather gamble.

For Oxford, it represents another evolution in the city’s growing social and hospitality landscape – one where experiential venues continue to blend dining, drinking and activity into a single, flexible offer. And for Flight Club, it is a clear statement: summer is not just a season, but a setting.
