Couples looking for a memorable way to celebrate Valentine’s Day are being encouraged to opt for a romantic meal out rather than traditional gifts such as flowers or chocolates.

With dining out increasingly seen as the ultimate way to mark the occasion, Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Oxford has unveiled a specially curated Valentine’s menu designed to impress on what is widely regarded as the most romantic night of the year.

The restaurant is preparing to welcome couples on 14 February, with hopes that the evening’s atmosphere and indulgent menu may even inspire a few marriage proposals.

Madalina Jurczak, Food and Beverage Manager, said a shared dining experience offers a more meaningful way to celebrate love.

“Rather than saying it with roses, a beautifully prepared meal which includes a variety of delicious sharing dishes is by far the best way to show how much you care,” she said.

The menu opens with indulgent sharing starters, including baked camembert served with roasted Piccolo tomatoes, vintage balsamic, extra virgin olive oil, toasted sourdough and soft herbs.

For the main course, couples can enjoy a classic beef Wellington, featuring fillet of beef wrapped in mushroom duxelles, Parma ham and buttery puff pastry, finished with rich Madeira roasting juices. A sharing surf and turf option is also available, combining fillet steak, peppercorn sauce, jumbo black tiger prawns, garlic butter and Koffmann fries.

“Steak has always been the standout favourite on Valentine’s Day,” Madalina added. “That’s why we’ve included both the Wellington and surf and turf on the menu.”

Dessert is designed to be shared, with a trio featuring caramelised apple and pear tart, warm chocolate brownie and Mr White’s cheesecake.

Alongside the sharing dishes, diners can also choose from a full selection of starters, mains and desserts, allowing couples to create their own perfect Valentine’s experience.

“Our menu is perfect for sharing, so couples can truly enjoy the most romantic date together,” Madalina said. “With first-class service and the right ambience, we’ll be pulling out all the stops this 14 February.”
