Oxford Golf Club has marked the completion of the first phase of its ambitious clubhouse regeneration project, unveiling a brand new dining and hospitality space designed to enhance the historic course’s event and catering capabilities.

Located on Hill Top Road, the new dining facility can accommodate more than 50 guests and represents the first step in transforming the club into a seven-day-a-week destination for meals, private events, and community gatherings.

The redevelopment forms part of a wider vision to diversify the club’s facilities and strengthen its role as a social hub for Cowley and beyond. The next stage of improvements will see the clubhouse bar area refurbished in 2026, including the addition of a new accessible toilet.

Plans for the new dining offering include traditional Sunday lunches, daytime dining open to the public, and space for private celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, and engagements.

Steve Greenwood, General Manager at Oxford Golf Club, said:

“These improvements represent an exciting time for our county’s club. Golf remains our primary objective and although we provide an unrivalled playing experience in the heart of Oxford, we recognised the space available at our disposal has huge potential to engage local people, groups and businesses.

“Golf courses have perhaps historically been viewed as a closed shop by members of the public, but those assumptions could not be further from the reality of our operation today.

“Our doors are open to all members of the community, and completing the first phase of our clubhouse regeneration is a major step in enhancing our hospitality and catering provisions for those who we welcome through our doors.”

Alongside the improved facilities, the club continues to thrive both on and off the course.

Open 364 days a year, it hosts charity events, prestigious competitions, and development pathways for new and experienced players. The club recently recorded its highest-ever membership figures, with junior participation quadrupling in the past two years.

Steve added:

“We want Oxford Golf Club to be a true, multi-purpose, seven-day-a-week hub where members and visitors can play, relax and dine. We look forward to utilising our new space, particularly with Christmas celebrations on the horizon.”
