Majestic, the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer, has opened its new store in Oxford’s Summertown. The retailer is returning to the site of their old branch, which closed a few years ago.
The new store had an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening. The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Mark Lygo, cut the ribbon alongside Majestic’s CEO John Colley, the Summertown store team and excited customers ready to raise a glass to officially declare Majestic is back in Summertown.
The new store in Summertown underneath the new easyHotel has some exciting new features. These include a dedicated ‘Tasting Counter’ for customers to try an exciting array of wines each day, an expanded ‘Fine Wine’ selection, customer parking and a first for Majestic, electric vehicle charging. All this alongside over 1300 beers, wines and spirits to browse.
Majestic’s CEO John Colley, speaking at the official opening in October, said: “We are over the moon to be back – and the reception from customers has already been incredibly encouraging.
“Summertown is an area we know well, so we are looking forward to giving a warm welcome back to our old customers and saying hello to new ones. It’s also great being the first Majestic store with electric charging points, showing our commitment to sustainability.
Each of our store colleagues works towards being professionally accredited by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET). This means you get informed answers to your wine questions, along with personal recommendations from people who enjoy drinking and learning about wine just as much as you do.”
