The Ivy Oxford Brasserie is inviting guests this autumn to savour the elegance and refinement of Downton Abbey with a limited-edition menu created to celebrate the cinema release of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. The special offering, launched on 03 September across The Ivy Collection, brings the charm of 1930s dining to the present day with the restaurant’s contemporary twist.

Priced at £27.95 for two courses or £34.95 for three, the menu reimagines the tastes of the Crawley family table and the English countryside estates of the era. Starters include Severn & Wye Smoked Salmon, served with brown bread, butter and lemon, and Salade Du Verger, a vibrant combination of red chicory, figs, pecans and truffle vinaigrette, topped with whipped feta and herbs.

Main courses pay tribute to heritage flavours with signature Ivy flair. The Ivy Shepherd’s Pie, enriched with slow-braised lamb and beef, red wine, rosemary and topped with Cheddar mash, remains a house favourite.
Alternatives include the Grilled Lemon Sole on the Bone with beurre noisette and capers, a Garden Vegetable Curry reflecting the period’s global influences, and indulgent dishes such as Braised Duck Curry or a 21-Day Aged Sirloin Steak with peppercorn sauce.

Desserts offer a suitably grand finale. Guests may choose the dramatic Ivy Chocolate Dome with honeycomb and caramel, the flambéed Orchard Apple Tart with Calvados, or a traditional Caramelised Crème Brûlée – dishes echoing the indulgence of country house dining.
To accompany the menu, The Ivy Oxford presents The Ivy Guest Champagne as a classic toast, or The Gilded Peach Cobbler, a cocktail inspired by the 1930s. Crafted from sloe gin, Crème de Pêche, Beesou honey aperitif and pineapple syrup, and topped with Champagne, it offers a sparkling nod to the glamour of the silver screen.

“It’s been a pleasure to collaborate with the cinema release of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale on this special menu,” said Sean Burbidge, Executive Chef at The Ivy Collection. “We’ve taken great joy in creating dishes that reflect the elegance of the era, inspired by the film’s characters, 1930s flavours, and even dishes once served at The Original Ivy.”
For Oxford diners, the menu offers a rare chance to step into the world of Downton, combining cinematic nostalgia with The Ivy’s trademark hospitality.
