Oxford High School has announced the appointment of Dr Helen Stringer as Interim Head of the school for one year from this September.
Dr Stringer has had a long and distinguished career in education. She is currently Head of Northampton High School GDST, where she has been for the past four years. Before Northampton High, Dr Stringer was Vice-Principal (Curriculum) at The Stephen Perse Foundation (formerly Perse School for Girls) in Cambridge. Dr Stringer studied History at Bristol University, following this with an MA and then a doctorate from the University of Sussex.
A spokesperson for the school commented that “Dr Stringer is very much looking forward to working with the staff and girls of Oxford High to ensure that the school continues to thrive. She will be supported in this work by our current Senior Leadership Team – Dr Secker, Ms Nebesnuick, Miss Pallas-Brown, Mr Nicholl, and Mrs Williams in the Prep School – and we look forward to welcoming her to the school, and to Oxford, this September.”
It is expected that over the coming year, the School’s Governing Board, the GDST and its trustees will be making the necessary arrangements to appoint a new leader for Oxford High School.
