By popular demand, the Faulty Towers immersive dining experience is returning to Oxford this winter – offering residents the opportunity to enjoy comedy with fine dining.
Iffley-based boutique hotel Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House will treat diners to an immersive two-hour dining experience inspired by the beloved British sitcom.
The immersive evening includes dinner, drinks and entertainment inspired by the beloved comedy show Fawlty Towers. The hotel first hosted the event this summer, and it was so popular that it will return to Oxford next month.
Fawlty Towers ran on television throughout the latter half of the 1970s and followed the adventures of Basil Fawlty, memorably portrayed by John Cleese. The sitcom followed a cast of unforgettable characters as they navigated life at a highly chaotic and dysfunctional hotel.

The dining experience will be hosted by Hawkwell House on Saturday, 30 November, and guests can live out the Faulty Towers experience. A festive three-course meal to be served before the audience laughs at the antics of all Fawlty Towers’ most well-loved characters, including Basil, Sybil and Manuel.
Each Fawlty Towers show is largely improvised, making every evening a unique experience for fans. The shows have been performed in over 40 countries, receiving rave reviews globally over an almost 30-year run.
Isabela Dumbrava, Director of Sales and Marketing at Hawkwell House Hotel, said: “We’re proud to be hosting this critically acclaimed tribute once again.
“At the last performance, our guests had an absolutely fantastic time, laughing over the antics while also enjoying their delicious meal.
“The television show is a piece of cultural history being given new life by these brilliant immersive experiences, and we’re thrilled to be bringing it back to Oxford this winter.
“This event will run for one night only and tickets are selling fast, so we recommend booking now to avoid disappointment. We’re sure it will be a fantastic evening and a great way to kick-start the festive season. We look forward to welcoming our guests in November.”
Tickets cost £75.00 and include an arrival drink, a festive three-course dinner and a two-hour interactive show. Doors open at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start time.
