One of Oxfordshire’s most celebrated sporting events, the Oxford Half Marathon, has officially sold out, with all remaining charity places now secured.
General entries for the 2025 race were snapped up in record time back in January, and the event is now fully booked. Those who missed out will need to look ahead to the following year for a chance to take part.
Charity places gave runners the opportunity to represent one of the Oxford Half’s 18 charity partners. These include local causes such as Sobell House Hospice, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and Yellow Submarine, alongside national charities including Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society, and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Last October’s race saw over £1 million raised for the official charity partners, with thousands more generated by general entry runners raising money for other good causes.

The event is organised by Motiv Sports, who also run the Blenheim Palace Triathlon in June. Earlier this year, that race attracted 7,000 participants. On Sunday 12 October, attention will turn to Oxford, when 13,000 runners will take to the streets.

The route showcases the very best of the city, winding through its historic streets before heading out to Old Marston village and along the River Cherwell, with the final stretch leading into University Parks.
For supporters, University Parks will host a lively event village, offering an array of food and drink stalls, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. It’s the perfect spot to cheer on friends and loved ones as they cross the finish line and to soak up the race-day atmosphere.
The park’s spacious setting and riverside location make it an ideal place for spectators to gather, with easy access to the city centre for those wishing to explore further before or after the race.
Whether you’re running, volunteering, or simply cheering from the sidelines, the Oxford Half Marathon promises another unforgettable day celebrating sport, community spirit, and the city’s unique charm.
