The Relais Henley, a stylish riverside retreat in Henley-on-Thames, brings a late summer series of events to the Oxfordshire town, including jazz evenings, comedy nights with Honk! and unique evenings of vodka and wine tastings.
The recently renovated hotel inhabits a grade II listed building, which has been a part of the local community for centuries, making it the perfect backdrop for relaxed evenings of entertainment surrounded by history and charm.
Jazz nights take place throughout September featuring local artists, including the Phil Craddock Trio on the 03 and 17 of September, the Simon Cook Trio on 10 September and the Brian Throup Quartet on 01 and 08 September.
Later in the month, the Relais Henley welcomes Jazz with P’Jam on the 15th and 29th, the Gareth Chelley Quartet on the 22nd, and the Brian Throup Trio on the 24th.
On 07 September, the Relais is offering an evening of vodka tasting from around the world, paired with a BBQ in the Courtyard. Guests are invited to blind taste more than 15 vodkas to discover the complexity of the spirit.
On 14 September, guests are ‘transported’ to Spain with an evening of flamenco guitar played by Tomás Jiménez, enjoyed with a Spanish buffet in the Courtyard accompanied by Sangria.
Continuing around the world, The Clipper restaurant is hosting a ‘Wine and Dine – A Taste of France’ on 22 September. A 6-course menu of French cuisine accompanied with pairing wines and champagnes hand-picked by an experienced sommelier guides guests through the unique tasting experience.
The Relais Henley is a boutique waterside retreat sitting in the heart of Henley and alongside the river Thames, with 40 elegant rooms, a stylish restaurant – serving locally sourced, seasonal cuisine, the Quarterdeck bar – the oldest part of the hotel and a great place to enjoy local craft beers and gin, and The Clip Bar – a chic meeting place for a pre-dinner aperitif.
The Palm Court, at the centre of the hotel, is inspired by international hotels with interiors influenced by the Far East and vast picture windows overlooking the Thames and is home to the hotel’s membership club, The Salon, and entertainment space for events.
The vodka-tasting tickets are £45 per person (free for Salon members) and include vodka sampling, BBQ buffet and live DJ entertainment.
The ‘Wine and Dine – A Taste of France’ tickets are £140 per person (15% discount for Salon members) and include a 6-course menu with wines and an aperitif on arrival.
